Copper press fittings are joined using press tooling and are widely used for both water and gas applications where a rigid, long-lasting connection is required. PEX (crimp/slide) fittings use a flexible plastic pipe that's generally faster to install and more forgiving around tight bends. The right choice depends on the specific job, local requirements, and personal preference — browse the Copper Press & Coils/Pipe and PEX Pipe & Fittings ranges to compare what's available.
Compression fittings join pipe using a nut and olive tightened by hand or spanner, with no special tooling required. Press fittings are joined using a press tool that permanently crimps the fitting to the pipe, generally giving a faster and more consistent result on larger jobs. Both are stocked across our Copper Press and Valves ranges — get in touch if you're unsure which suits your job.
Pipe and fitting sizing depends on the application, existing pipework, and relevant Australian plumbing standards, so it's best confirmed against your job's specifications or with a licensed plumber. If you're unsure, contact the team with your job details and we can help point you to the right product.
Tempering valves are required under Australian standards for hot water systems delivering to bathrooms in many building types, to prevent scalding. Whether your specific installation requires one — and which type — should be confirmed against current AS/NZS requirements or with a licensed plumber. Browse the range under Hot Water Valve Kits once you've confirmed what's needed.
